Reasons Your Teen Should Take Safe America's Driver Education Classes

The Safe America Foundation offers an exceptional Driver Education program for Teens looking to receive their license. The program includes 30 hours of Classroom lecture, 6 hours of behind the wheel training, the four hour Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) and hands on training in car maintenance. Unlike other Driving Schools, Safe America provides driving simulators – available only at the Sandy Plains location – that offer teens a glimpse of what it’s like to drive in adverse weather conditions, night-time driving, and in risky situations. As a non-profit foundation, Safe America partners with law enforcement agencies to provide speakers who are DUI/manslaughter offenders and who share their story with teens, so that they may think twice before making destructive decisions while behind the wheel. Here are some of the things the teens are saying about Safe America’s Driver Education classes:

“I had no idea how much responsibility you take when you get behind the wheel. After this course, I now know the danger I am to other drivers and what they are to me. I must be on the top of my game every second I am behind the wheel. Thanks Larry!”

“I’ll never forget the DUI speaker’s story and how one day can change your life.”

“I learned that some of the habits that even my parents practice are not safe.”

“One thing I’ll remember is when the DUI speaker came in and told us his life story and how he was convicted for DUI and man slaughter. He really opened my eyes.”

“This class really helps you to understand certain laws and other ideas. At Safe America, the simulators and videos help reinforce these ideas.”

“I will now try to be safer when I drive, because I learned all of the important techniques on how to be safe. I will focus more and always be aware of my surroundings as well as be smart while I drive by making good decisions.”

“I would tell my friends and family that this class lowers the cost of your insurance, prepares you to drive, and most importantly, makes you a better driver.”

“There are many things learned in driver’s education that wouldn’t be learned from driving experience alone, especially the more grim side of driving.”

“The things I’ll remember from this class are the simulators and the DUI speaker.”

Walton High School 10/15/10 Assembly

The Safe America Foundation held two Safe Teen Driving assemblies at Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia on Friday, October 15, 2010. The teens were grouped by grade, with one assembly for the freshmen and sophomores and the second one for the juniors and seniors. Speakers included the survivor of a motor vehicle crash  that killed 3 teenage girls, a Cobb County police officer that routinely deals with the aftermath of crashes and a DUI offender. The message was given on Walton’s Homecoming Day to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving, texting while driving, speeding and other behaviors that are linked to teen crashes and fatalities. The teens were encouraged to think about their choices as drivers and passengers, while celebrating their Homecoming Game.
