Walton High School 10/15/10 Assembly

The Safe America Foundation held two Safe Teen Driving assemblies at Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia on Friday, October 15, 2010. The teens were grouped by grade, with one assembly for the freshmen and sophomores and the second one for the juniors and seniors. Speakers included the survivor of a motor vehicle crash  that killed 3 teenage girls, a Cobb County police officer that routinely deals with the aftermath of crashes and a DUI offender. The message was given on Walton’s Homecoming Day to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving, texting while driving, speeding and other behaviors that are linked to teen crashes and fatalities. The teens were encouraged to think about their choices as drivers and passengers, while celebrating their Homecoming Game.
